With Barcelona gearing up for a difficult summer ahead, the club are expected to sanction quite a few exits in order to bring in fresh revenue.
Keeping that in mind, there are multiple players who are running the risk of being offloaded in the coming summer.
For a while, Fermin Lopez was thought to be one of those players Barcelona could cash on at the end of the season. He was even seen as a lucrative moneymaker due to his age and potential.
Changing perception
However, a lot has changed in the past couple of months and it appears Barça now view Fermin Lopez in a different light.
That is according to SPORT, which suggests that Barcelona are now not too keen on cashing in on Lopez this summer.
Barcelona, in fact, want to continue having Lopez as part of the team. They want the Spaniard to operate in a more interior midfield role next season due to his work ethic and ability to create chances.

It seems the club are impressed with Fermin’s performances, with the youngster notably starting a carve out a place for himself in the first-team.
Commitment personified
One of the main drivers behind Fermin Lopez’s success at Barça has been his commitment to the club.
Ever since his first opportunity, the Spaniard has never taken anything for granted and is always one of the most hard-working members of the team.
The player constantly follows video clips under the supervision of the technical staff to improve himself in various aspects of the game.
This has left the Barcelona hierarchy quite impressed and the club believe that they would require the services of someone like Lopez next season.
As such, Barcelona are unlikely to consider any offers for the creative starlet this summer, unless an extremely lucrative offer comes forth.
