St. Mary's Church

On Grand Street, on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.

Also known as The Church of St. Mary, this church was established in 1826 to serve Irish immigrants living on the Lower East Side. it is the third oldest Catholic parish in New York City and will be celebrating its bicentennial as a parish in 2026.

The church itself was built in 1832-33, but was subsequently enlarged. Its facade was replaced in 1871 by the church architect Patrick Charles Keely.
